In the Colosseum, a symbol of calls for peace and awareness campaigns

The eternal setting of the Colosseum, which for years has become a symbol of calls for peace and awareness campaigns, will host children's dreams of a world of peace captured in the drawings displayed around the monument . Colors of Peace, in its third edition, responds to the call of the United Nations contained in resolution A/RES/36/67, which invites institutions and civil society to celebrate the International Day of Peace (the “International Day of Peace” which is celebrated on September 21).

The papers were collected from students who participated in the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run Peace Race and other associated nonprofit organizations. Colors of Peace is a program organized by Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, a non-profit organization founded by Sri Chinmoy in New York at 1987.

It will open with a ceremony in the arena of the Colosseum

Colors of Peace 2019 will open at 16: 30 of the September 20 with a ceremony at the Arena Coliseum. Students, representatives of institutions, foreign delegations, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of different religious denominations and personalities from the world of culture and sport will participate in the event.

During the ceremony, the winners of the “Peace Movie Award 2019” will be awarded, an international competition launched in 2017 by Peace Run under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and the Ministry of Cultural Assets and Activities and Tourism.

The contest aims to promote the culture of peace by inviting children and youth from schools around the world to express their vision of peace through a video of 32 seconds long. This year's prizes will be awarded to a school in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a school in Indonesia.

Sponsored by different official levels

In the different editions Colors of Peace has received the sponsorship of the President of the Senate, of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic, of the Presidency of the Department of Equal Opportunities of the Council of Ministers, of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, of Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the RAI Gulp media association.

The event has the collaboration of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, the “Colors for Peace” Association of Santa Ana de Stazzema and the contribution of Roma Capitale.

Peace Run Rewards the World March for Peace and Nonviolence
