The Latin American March for Nonviolence began

On September 15, the 1st Latin American March for Nonviolence was inaugurated

This September 15, the inauguration of the 1st Latin American March for Nonviolence was held, through a live TV program, which mixed the virtual with the face-to-face.

After more than 8 months of virtual planning among activists from almost all Latin American countries, this inauguration is achieved in which the virtual connection component is symbolically mixed, through pre-recorded videos, with which many people who were in different points of the city. Latin America and even from Madrid, could be part of this inauguration.

Meanwhile in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, with an emotional face-to-face event, live images were shown, from the State Distance University, in which the formal acts and the symbolic opening of the Marches were held, whether physical (or experiential, as they have called it), or virtual, which will extend throughout Latin America for 18 days until 2 de Octubre, International Day of Nonviolence and the day on which this Multi-ethnic and Pluricultural March for Nonviolence will conclude.

Among the many activities that were announced to be carried out these days, an Experiential March stands out that will leave Puntarenas Costa Rica on September 28 from the same University where this inauguration took place and that will tour 4 provinces of the country for 3 days, to end on the 30th with an act of request from the central point, considered the center of Costa Rica and the continental division of waters in the town of Ochomogo. This march will be led by Rafael de la Rubia, the promoter of 2 World Marches, who will travel from Madrid to walk those more than 100 km in Costa Rica together with other peace activists who join in the indicated sections.
