Logbook, 7-8-9 November

30 miles from the coast, the Bamboo enters silently. We know the bad weather. Finally, on 8 day they call from the sailboat, tired but cheerful.

7-8-9 for November - About 30 kilometers from the Catalan coast, the ship goes into radio silence and also the AIS signal, the Automatic Identification System, the device that allows the identification of ships at sea, disappears and then those that are on land can only wait for the Bamboo to reach the coast of Sardinia.

They will pass through the Bocas de Bonifacio and then descend to the Gulf of Cagliari. And from there, if time permits, we will try to pass the Sardinia canal.

In the WhatsApp group, those on the ground exchange comments on the forecasts for the next few days in the Sardinia Canal. They are very bad.

The dominant colors for the state of the sea, that is to say the height of the waves, are red, yellow and in the days ahead until gray. That is, waves from 3 to 6 meters. The Tunisian stage seems to be increasingly at risk.

The November 8 call from the ship. All a little tired from bad weather (they found rain, storms, wind of face) but they are in a good mood.

The march over the sea continues, mile after mile. When they reach 30 miles from the Gulf of Cagliari the wind becomes stronger: we are going upwind, or rather “Bolinona” as they tell us with a Watshapp message.

Late in the afternoon of the day 9 arrived at the port of Cagliari. A great effort but the faces of the sailors are cheerful. Everything is fine.
