On October 2, 2024, the International Day of Non-Violence, the Third World March for Peace and Nonviolence will depart from San José, Costa Rica, where it will return after having traveled around the planet on January 5, 2025. Costa Rica was chosen as the starting and finishing point of the March due to its characteristic of being a State without an army, a very significant factor in this time of conflicts and wars.

The presentation conference of the Third World March for Peace and Nonviolence was held on September 30 at the University of Distance Studies in San José, Costa Rica, and can be accessed can be seen on the UNED channel

In San José, starting from the University facilities, numerous activities will take place throughout the day: speeches by public authorities, the University and the Base Team of the March, the Ethical Commitment ceremony, the creation by the students of the human symbol of non-violence, a march through the streets of San José, in which the Base Team participants will be accompanied by the local population.

The March will also begin in parallel with the celebrations of Gandhi's birthday, declared World Day of Non-Violence by the UN in 2007, with numerous activities in schools, squares and the creation of human symbols.
