«C'era una volta… nel lager» is the story of the musician and painter Arturo Coppola, drawn by him and told by the pen of Giovannino Guareschi, which tells the story of the return to the front of a young Italian officer after a leave « loving”, the capture by the Germans and life in beer until freedom is regained, sustained throughout the imprisonment by the dream of seeing his beloved again.

"A. Coppola 5733 – G. Guareschi 6865 are the names and serial numbers of the two prisoners in the German prison camp at Bremervörde in the spring of 1944.
You have to see the drawings and read all the captions to obtain the measure of a reality that seems remote in time, while it happened just over sixty years ago.
