On November 23, the city of Granada became a symbol of peace and non-violence, hosting the 3ª World March for Peace and NonviolenceThis event, which took place in Granada, was not just another march, but an artistic and pacifist expression of great significance, with the hope of leaving a lasting mark on the collective consciousness of the citizens of Granada and the world.

The organisers of the march thanked all the volunteers, individuals and associations who formed the promoter group in the city for their participation. Representatives from Malaga, Cordoba and Cuenca, participants of the European coordination team of the 3rd March, attended the event.

The Peace and Conflict Institute collaborated closely with the organization of this event, inviting the active participation of the community. The march was a call to action to express rejection of the war and violence that afflict our world, and to affirm human dignity and human rights as supreme values.

The march in Granada is part of a global social and nonviolent platform, an opportunity for citizens to express their deep discontent with the destruction and violence, and to promote a change towards a culture of active nonviolence. The organization "World without Wars and Violence", with more than two decades of history and recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council, was the convener of this march, highlighting its independence from government subsidies and its commitment to world peace.

The day was filled with meaningful activities, starting with a rally at the Fuente de las Batallas, symbolically renamed the Fountain of Peace. The demonstration moved along Carrera, Salón and Paseo de la Bomba, culminating in a festival celebrating peace and nonviolence.

This event was not only a local event, but it had international coverage, positioning itself as a possible milestone in the history of the Granadan citizenship with worldwide repercussions. The march was a call for the democratization of the UN and the elimination of the Security Council, proposing a World Citizen Assembly that would ratify proposals from pluralistic and consensus-based teams.

The 3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence in Granada was an inspiring example of how collective action and artistic expression can come together to send a powerful message of hope and change. A reminder that each of us has a role to play in building a more peaceful and just world.
