The Umag City Council, Republic of Croatia, made public its support for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and urges the Croatian government to sign this treaty.

SUBJECT: Appeal
"Our city of Umag is deeply concerned about the serious threat that nuclear weapons pose to communities around the world.
We firmly believe that our residents have the right to a world free of this threat.
Any use of nuclear weapons, intentional or accidental, would have catastrophic, far-reaching and lasting consequences for people and the environment.
Therefore, we welcome the adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons
by the United Nations in 2017, and we invite our national government to sign and ratify without delay."
