The official launch of the 2ª World March for Peace and Nonviolence took place on November 7 of 2018, during the II World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace, in Madrid.
The 2ª World March, promoted and coordinated by the international humanist association World without Wars and Violence, will begin 10 years after the 1ª World March, the 2 of October of 2019, and will end the 8 of March of 2020, after 158 days of circumnavigation of the world, beginning and ending in the Spanish capital. The October 2 is the International Day of Nonviolence, and the March 8 is International Women's Day.
The launching act was presented by the coordinator of the March, Rafael de la Rubia, and was attended by Beatrice Fihn (Executive Director of ICAN), Pedro Arrojo (Congressman), Josep Mayoral i Antigas (Mayor of Granollers and Vice President of Mayors for Peace), Carmen Magallón Portoles (President of WILPF, Spain), the actor Alberto Ammann, and the members of the Base Team and the organizers of the 1ª World March who work to promote this second edition.
