The 2 World March for Peace and Nonviolence presented in Piran, Slovenia

On August 30, the Mayors of the Island of Koper Ankaran and Aiello (representing the Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace of Friuli Venezia Giulia) and the President of the Italian Union of Slovenia and Croatia, participated in the presentation of the 2 World March for Peace and Non-Violence.

The presentation has been promoted by the Mayor of Piran together with the Sea Museum “Sergej Mašera”, the Committee for Peace and Coexistence “Danilo Dolci” and the Mondosenzaguerre Association, present in the photo together with the activists and supporters of the March.

The Municipality of Piran supports the 2 World March for Peace and Nonviolence in Slovenia and adheres to the idea of ​​an international Gulf of Peace and free of nuclear weapons.

The World March will begin on October 2 from Madrid, and will make a section of the boat trip through the western Mediterranean. This trip was conceived in Piran.

After the meeting, the documentary “The beginning of the end of atomic weapons” was shown, about the UN Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons; promoted by the ICAN Nobel Peace Prize 2017, produced by the Pressenza agency and awarded the prestigious “Accolade award”.
