The Marchers in Fiumicello Villa Vicentina

El 27 de febrero, la Marcha llegó a Fiumicello Villa Vicentina, donde realizaron actividades “en privado”

The Base Team has arrived at Fiumicello Villa Vicentina. Due to the emergence of the coronavirus it was not possible to carry out the planned activities, so it was decided to organize a private meeting with the international delegation of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.

In Piazza Falcone and in the bag we were received by a small group of people from Auser who wanted to exhibit the artistic creation of Franco, the Dove of Peace. We took a picture and with the protesters we met in the room that houses the Johns Government.

It was very moving to meet in this place where Giulio Regeni spent four years as councilman and then as mayor of the Johns government.

After the greetings of the Promotional Committee of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina, Rafael de la Rubia, promoter of the World March, humanist, intervened to thank and communicate his message of Peace and Non-Violence.

Deepak Vyas Founding President of The Global Trust, an Indian reality that aspires to create "The whole world as a global village" asked for a minute of silence to honor the memory of Giulio Regeni.

Each member of the delegation, composed of Cecilia Umana Cruz, Marly Arévalo Patiño, Andrés Salazar White, gave their testimony with passion and great conviction, involving everyone present.

Later, they spoke Paola Deffendi, Don Pier Luigi di Piazza, Don Gigi Fontanot.

After a short walk through the streets of the Rights of the Child, we arrived at the Town Hall for a brief greeting from Laura Sgubin, Mayor of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina.

After the exchange of taxes, the mayor responded positively to two questions:

  • Support the appeal of ICAN (International Compaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) Nobel Peace Prize 2017 ...
  • Support, in ways to be defined, the Municipality of Piran in Slovenia as an "Embassy of Peace" for the Mediterranean, Sea of Peace.

We inform you that the National Committee of the World March for Peace and Non-Violence has decided, in agreement with the organizers, to postpone the Italian March to Autumn, when schools will have resumed the 2020/2021 school year. We will keep you informed, even of the next initiatives that will not be lacking! Have a good march together! ...
