An exhibition and meetings were held in Ondarroa (Bizkaia) on 26 and 27 October around the 3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
Workshops were held, and the documentary “The Beginning of the End of Nuclear Weapons” was watched, leading to interesting exchanges with the attendees who had the opportunity to visit the space throughout the weekend.
The exhibition included the comic “The Healing of Suffering” by author Damian Mezquita, translated into Basque, as well as numerous texts with illustrations on topics related to the history of nonviolence provided by the Saure publishing house from the book “A Path to Peace and Nonviolence” by Martine Sicard and Luis Alzueta.
Children, young people and adults participated, highlighting the presentation given by the young Nora Garmendia on various situations of violence suffered by young people today, such as “the narratives” that have been sold to us about nutritional imbalances, the lack of alternatives that people with this problem experience, power relations and inappropriate practices such as mechanical restraint used in public health services, the “weight-centred” view, which is not very comprehensive or in-depth in psychiatric units, the excessive use of antidepressants and anxiolytics…”
Local groups provided us with photos and objects from the various associations working to support the Sahrawi and Palestinian communities as an expression of solidarity and the desire for peace for all peoples. We would like to thank all of them and the participants for the support received.
