South American March 2018

La South American March for Peace and Nonviolence (MS) toured more than 11.500 kilometers in 28 days per VenezuelaColombiaEcuadorPeruBolivia, Suriname, Brazil, Argentina Chile.

The action was promoted by women activists of the organization "World without Wars and Violence"Ecuador chapter who participated in the Central American March of 2017 as international observers.

That small group was connecting with activists from other cities in Bogota,LimaSantiagoSugarCordovaSao Paulo and little by little a network was formed, not without difficulties, and a route, events, conversations and also a group of participants within the base team that would make the whole journey. Later, more humanist, environmentalist, pacifist and nonviolent activists joined, as well as organizations, universities, schools, municipalities and collectives from different countries that, together, made the March possible.

Sixty activists from Pacific Corridor, among those who marched four Colombians who made the complete journey, converged in Santiago de Chile with those who came from Atlantic Corridor in what was the final stage of a March that traveled forty-three locations, between cities and municipalities, where numerous events were developed promoting Peace and Nonviolence.

Central American March 2017

From the 10 from September to the 16 from September

The protagonists of the 1ª Central American March for Peace and Nonviolence (MC) reThey ran over 3.400 kilometers in 7 days.

Numerous marches, events, talks, cultural events and festivities were held in 10 localities, between cities and municipalities of Honduras (Peña Blanca, San Pedro Sula and San Lorenzo), Guatemala (City and Mixco), El Salvador (Sonsonate, San Salvador and San Miguel), Nicaragua (Borders), Panama and Costa Rica (San José and Heredia).

The marchers were a group of 74 activists, mostly young students, but also older people, including some children. During the tour they were accompanied by Ecuadorian activists as international observers.

A delegation of Costa Ricans received at the border of Peñas Blancas to MC from Nicaragua. Hours later the 1ª MC for Nonviolence and Peace arrived in the capital, Saint Joseph. At Campus Omar Dengo full National University of Costa Rica (UNA), were received by hundreds of students, activists and academic authorities with the Rector Doctor Alberto Salom to the head.

His arrival opened the Forum and University Days "Visibilizing Nonviolence and Peace" which was held during the next 2 days, September 14 and 15, 2017. It was the culmination of a great effort by the group that arrived almost exhausted, especially due to the difficulties they encountered in customs and border crossings, with endless reviews and long periods of time. waiting, which in many cases led to a delay in scheduled actions. It was confirmed that some governments in the region make it difficult for people to move freely.

The action was promoted by the organization "World Without Wars and without violence" Central America Chapter and counted on the collaboration of several universities, institutions and collectives.
