On July 18, the presentation of the First Latin American March for Nonviolence, Multi-ethnic and Multicultural was held, in virtual form. It was an initial presentation that opens the realization of multiple activities prior to the date on which it will take place, that is, from September 15 to October 2.
This activity was led by representatives of different Latin American countries, who explained the objectives of this March, its postulates, confirmed initiatives and future prospects, and invited to participate and join.
Additionally, a promotional video was presented announcing the launch of the March and short videos were shown showing activities carried out and individual and collective support in support of the March.
The chosen date was in homage to Nelson Mandela, on one more anniversary of his birth.
The Latin American March for Multiethnic and Pluricultural Nonviolence, which will be virtual and in-person, already has the support of organizations and people from Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Suriname, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and Brazil and will is waiting for more countries and organizations to join when it concludes in Costa Rica on October 2, where they will converge in a Forum called: "Towards the Nonviolent Future for Latin America", for which they call for contact, through the registration form found on the March website: https://theworldmarch.org/participa-en-la-marcha-latinoamericana/
“The union of millions of human beings of different languages, races, beliefs and cultures is necessary to ignite human consciousness with the light of Nonviolence.” He proclaims his manifesto, which was read, as part of the activity.
