World without wars and without violence Panama, together with the City of Knowledge, celebrated today the world day of peace, in the company of young people from the Soka Gakkai of Panama and representatives of the star students of the Panama Bilingual Academy for the Future, carrying held, on a warm and sunny morning, a human symbol of peace, in the Quadrangle of the City of Knowledge.
The activity was carried out within the framework of the Multiethnic and Pluricultural Latin American March for Nonviolence, which is touring the continent from September 15 to October 02 of the present, virtually and semi-face-to-face, from Mexico to Argentina. . The participants gathered, with the aim of sharing a positive and emotional moment, exchanging good vibes and synergies, maintaining a healthy distance and the health measures established by the State.
Similarly, a moment of meditation with a minute of silence was shared at 3:00 pm, as a special consideration for the deceased victims of all kinds of violence and for the covid, both in our country and in the rest of the continent.
As the second activity of the week of peace, we extend the invitation so that, next Friday, October 1, the international day of non-violence, the date established by the birth of the pacifist Mahatma Gandhi, you can accompany us with some white clothing, to the walk in silence that we will do from 9:00 am, for a few minutes around the City of Knowledge Park; at 3:00 p.m. that day, too
we will carry out a minute of reflection in memory of those who died due to violence
physical and non-physical, as well as by covid 19.
We want to highlight that the anthem of the Latin American March in Panama is called: “Looking for Peace”, lyrics and music by the Panamanian singer, Lic. Grettel Garibaldi, who interprets the song with Margarita Henríquez, Yamilka Pitre and Brenda Lau, always has supported pacifist causes in our country and the region.
