The theater of the El Pozo Cultural Center hosted a meeting on January 4 attended by more than 300 people
Vallecas VA
The humanist association Mundo sin guerras y sin violencia (World without wars and violence) organised, together with other groups and with the collaboration of comprarcasa TorresRubí, Somos Red Entrepozo VK and the Municipal Council of Puente de Vallecas, the meeting for Peace and Nonviolence that closed the celebration of the III World March for Peace and Nonviolence in Vallecas. The event, which took place in the theatre of the El Pozo Cultural Centre on 4 January, brought together more than 300 people.
For 3 hours, more than 20 artists gave their all to support this noble cause, expressing themselves through singing, violin, guitar, rap, theatre, poetry and improvisation. In turn, the public joined in whenever they were asked, mainly with the songs 'Solo le pido a Dios' and 'Mokili'. In addition, the Ethical Commitment was read together and the Human Symbols of Peace and Nonviolence were performed, to end, already in the square, with a broth and some sandwiches, while DJ Alfu from Gambia and Orlis Pineda, a Cuban-born resident of Vallecas, entertained the event. There was also an information table with books on the I and II World March for consultation and data collection sheets for those who were interested. All of this created a beautiful atmosphere that encouraged exchange, encounter and reunion.
From the beginning, the presenters encouraged people to start preparing now for the IV World March, which will begin on October 2 (International Day of Non-Violence declared by the United Nations on the occasion of Gandhi's birth) in 2029.
the best of each one
The program that was distributed at the entrance read: “At this meeting: we want to give the best of each one of us and be open to receiving the best of others; we want, and we make our own, the pro-Palestine campaign “for peace, ceasefire now, no genocide or terrorism” so that the song 'I only ask God' is sung by millions of people and in this way we can do our part to end this monstrosity.” To end with the following phrase: “We deeply believe in the Human Being. We want to glimpse, in no more than 20 years, that world of Peace and Nonviolence.”
