On October 23, a meeting was held around the 2 World March for Peace and Nonviolence in the Diade Camara Cultural Space, a reference point in Nouakchott for being a meeting place for both social and cultural activism.
The place is open to neighborhood groups as well as national organizations and is managed by Sire Camara and his wife Aichetou, who already hosted the Base Team in the first march 10 years ago.
After an introduction by host Camara, the 2 World March was presented with images to an attentive audience, composed mainly of young people and collective representatives.
Then a question and exchange session was opened about the objectives of the 2 World March. Everything was filmed and completed with subsequent interviews by a chain journalist TVElmourabituno.
The Base Team subsequently went to the headquarters of the private TV network Al watanya where a live interview with Rafael de la Rubia and Martine Sicard was carried out by the journalist Maya B, also on the objectives and interest of the World March. Again they commented on the tools that are made available to those interested.
24 Day, Workshop- exchange in Mauritania Prospects
On 24, a workshop-exchange took place at the headquarters of Mauritania Perspectives , khink-tank initiated by Amadou Sall, a sociology professor who brought together some administration cadres, professionals and university professors on this occasion. He devoted special attention to the issue of nuclear disarmament, contemplating the option of screening the documentary soon at the university «The beginning of the end of nuclear weapons.
The question of how to give continuity and concreteness to the proposals of the 2 World March was addressed, especially in the educational field.
Rafael de la Rubia and Martine Sicard presented in this regard the Nonviolence Training Manual with its different modules, offering the possibility of training workshops for social leaders.
The day at Amadou Sall and his wife Sadio was over, sharing a delicious laugh haako typical dish stamps. He took advantage to synthesize in a relaxed way everything done in recent days in Nouakchott with the perspectives that had been opened, Professor Sall recalling the socio-cultural and geopolitical context of the country.
The next day, the road was taken southward by a minibus in the direction of Rosso; there the Base Team spent the night at Lamine Niang's house before crossing the Senegal river to reach Saint-Louis (Senegal), at noon.
