The Base Team of the 2ª World March The 18 / 11 / 2019 from San Salvador arrives in San Miguel to attend an event with some 300 students.
In the classroom prepared to receive delegates there were numerous banners alluding to the 2 World March.
To further honor the event, each student wore a white t-shirt with the march symbol and the words "Peace, Strength and Joy" in memory of the 1st World March.
After the ritual, welcome greetings were given from the «Dtra. Teacher María Romilda Sandoval» and the consequent national anthem was heard.
The members of the Base Team took the floor
The interventions began by inviting the members of the Base Team: Pedro Arrojo, Sandro Ciani and Leonel Ayala to take the floor in front of an enthusiastic and attentive student audience.
Pedro began his speech explaining the reasons why an 2 World March 10 was held years after the first.
He focused on the current problems of climate change that mobilizes thousands of young people around the world.
Sandro CianiHe said that one of the most notable results after the 1 World March has been the elaboration in the United Nations of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPAN) that with the support of ICAN carries 79 signatures in favor and the ratification of 33 countries of the world.
The central theme was treated with questions open to students to involve them more in the subject.
Leonel Ayala He talked about the situation of violence in the countries of the area, both Salvadoran and Honduran, focusing on the issue of gender discrimination and sexist violence as a result of an archaic culture dominated by men.
In the end there was a short cultural event with popular songs performed by a young singer.
Then a press conference was held with local media. There the central points of the manifesto of the 2 World March were reinforced and the results of support to the TPAN were highlighted.
Diploma was awarded as Peace Builders in the World
It was closed with a recognition by the University, giving the 3 members present from the Base Team and Rafael of the Rubia with a Diploma as Peace Builders in the World.
At the end of a very intense, but rewarding day, the Andres Bello University He organized a mini music festival as thanks.
All participants were invited to organize an important event, with a symbolic load (symbol of peace and / or nonviolence and / or march of women) on the day that the 2 World March closes.
