Alto Verbano: all ready for the arrival of the World March for Peace and Non-Violence.

The event organized by Maria Terranova, Gabriella Colli, Sara Ciocca and Elio Pagani together with the Operosa Alto Verbano Community will take place on Sunday, March 1.

Back in the province of Varese the World March for Peace and Non-Violence, and for the first time this year there will also be a stop at Alto Verbano, organized by the promoter committee formed by Maria Terranova, Gabriella Colli, Sara Ciocca and Elio Pagani together with the Upper Verbano Operosa Community.

The appointment is for Sunday, March 1, when the zonal marches will take place through trails, guided by volunteers of the CAI. The departure is scheduled at 8 in the morning from two places: from the Communal Palace of Brezzo di Bedero to Germignaga in the Former Heliotherapy Colony and from the Maccagno Oratory with Pine and Veddasca to Luino in Piazza Chirola from the Parco to the Lake.

At 8.45 pm there will be a meeting in Germignaga with an institutional moment in the former Heliotherapy Colony, and the welcome and confrontation with the marchers of the 2nd Base Team of the World March for Peace and Non-Violence.

At 9.45 am we will leave for the mini march from Germignaga to Luino through the Boschetto Park, and at 10 hours we will arrive and meet at the Lago di Luino Park in Piazza Chirola.

Also here there will be an institutional moment with the welcome and the confrontation with the marchers of the 2nd Base Team of the World March for Peace and Non-Violence. The ceremony of Peace and the Human Symbol of Non-Violence will follow, with intermezzo songs by Francesco Fumagalli and the “Drop of Voices” Choir conducted by Oskar Boldre on the Chirola platform.

At 12 noon you will have lunch with the fair trade risotto for charitable purposes in the Luino station hall, while at 13.25 and at 14.15 you will depart to Varese by bus and in shared cars to participate in the events planned by The organizers of Varese della Marcia in the afternoon.

At 15.15:15.30 p.m. in Varese, the departure of the March from the “Felicita Morandi” Primary School will take place, and at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. the reception of the demonstrators in the Estense Hall.

The return to Luino is scheduled at 19.25 by bus and shared cars.

The objectives of the march are the prohibition of nuclear weapons and disarmament, the restoration of the United Nations reaffirming the prohibition of war in its Charter, the protection of the environment and the sustainable economy for the planet, the guarantee of the well-being of all peoples, the overcoming of all forms of discrimination and the dissemination of the culture of Nonviolence.

Among the parallel events, from February 22 to March 4 there will be the exhibition "Women for Peace", in the Methodist Church of Luino in Via del Carmine 30, which can be visited on Sunday March 1 from 8.30:10 to 16 and from 18:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
