The March awarded by Peace Run

During the press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the Italian Geographic Society, the founder of the “World March for Peace and Non-Violence”, Rafael de la Rubia, was awarded the “Peace Run Award Italy 2019".

The award was conceived, designed and created by a group of refugees and volunteers in workshops coordinated by the Thea Association of Rome.

The press conference was called to promote “Colors of Peace”, the annual Peace Race event in which 5.000 peace drawings created by children from 126 countries are exhibited at the Colosseum in Rome from September 20 to 29, on the occasion of the International Day of Peace.

During the press conference, Rafael De La Rubia also received the symbol of the peace torch of the Peace Race that will lead to the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prizes to be held from 19 to 22 in September in Mérida, Mexico.

He is entrusted with the torch symbol of the Peace Race.

The promoter of the World March left for Mexico immediately after the end of the ceremony on a day when he presented the initiative to Pope Francis at the Vatican.
