ACTIVITIES OF THE 2ND WORLD MARCH
On January 28 and 29, 2020 at 10 am, 2 workshops were held at the Instituto Bernardino de Escalante in Laredo (Cantabria).
The workshops were coordinated by Teresa Talledo and Silvia Trueba, members of the Estela-Message Association of Silo, from Laredo.
The participants, between the two workshops, were around 50 children from the Institute, from the 1st and 2nd year courses.
In the 2 workshops the theme is:
THE WORLD MARCH FOR PEACE AND NON-VIOLENCE
Themes: 2ª World March for peace and non-violence. MSG project
A PowerPoint was projected where the topics to be discussed are developed.
- Why a World March?
- Goals of the March.
- Background, 1st World March.
- Visualization of the world map and route.
- October 2 World Day of Non-Violence Why is this day celebrated?
- For what?
- Report the dangerous world situation with increasing conflicts.
- Continue raising awareness.
- Make positive actions visible, give voice to new generations who want to install the Non-violence culture.
- The 5 points of the MM
- Nuclear disarmament.
- Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty -
Tragic consequences of the use of Nuclear Weapons.
1st Atomic Bomb, Hiroshima and Nagasaki (1945).
Destruction of a nearby city where it was bombed in 1937.
Students try to identify which countries have Nuclear Weapons and which
consequences have on the populations that were not consulted.

We reflect on it.
VIOLENCE IS LEARNED AND NON-VIOLENCE IS ALSO
As a closing of the activities, all the participants make a human symbol of Peace. Simultaneously 1 student and 1 student of the Institute read the Manifesto of the 2nd World March.
We leave for you reflections on the important role that new generations have, this phrase:
“The fate of this world is in your hands.
What are you going to do?"
