On February 7, 2020 in Rognac, the ATLAS association presented an artistic resistance show entitled “We are free”, within the framework of the 2ª World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
Gilbert Chiaramonte, president of Atlas, explains why his association chose to participate in this World March:
«Since its creation in 2004, our association has not ceased to make its creative forces available to noble, fair and sincere causes.
In addition to teaching, art, culture and leisure are important assets that guide us towards respect for difference, sensitivity, compassion and a better coexistence. »
«The Artistic Resistance project is a state of mind, a vision, a new horizon.
It is certainly not about denouncing, renouncing current trends in the field of communication media, culture, music, ... but about having a conscience, the desire to leave home and discover that there is talent right in front of our doors.
“WE ARE FREE” is, therefore, a show in which we have put some innovation around dance and singing. »
At the opening of the show, the 2nd World March for Peace and Non-Violence was presented by Marie Prost, who directs the world singing group “Les Escapades polyphoniques” for Atlas, and is a member of the “World without Wars” association. and without Violence”, which was the initiative of the March.
Then followed, and sometimes mixed, a great diversity of dance styles: African, Zumba, Oriental, classical, ragga, modern fusion, jazz, modern, hip hop, flamenco, Bollywood, as well as songs and songs of the world. All were made by teachers and students of the Atlas association. The afternoon was filmed.
In the entrance hall, an exhibition on “Nonviolence, a force for action” was presented by the Coopération à la Paix association.
Video music credit: “Senzenina”, a South African mourning and fight song, recorded for the event by “les Escapades polyphoniques” (Rognac) and “les Polyphonies bourlingueuses” (Aix en Provence).
