The World March takes root in Slovenia

The 2nd World March for Peace and Nonviolence in Slovenija, for an international Gulf of Peace and free from nuclear weapons

The second edition of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence will begin the 2 of October of this year.

As in the first edition, the March will pass through the Adriatic Alpe region and the 26 will arrive in Trieste on February 2020.

It will begin the international campaign for a Gulf of Peace and free of nuclear weapons, within the framework of initiatives to create a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone in the Mediterranean, also carried out by the United Nations and the Council of Europe .

The Municipality of Piran has joined the campaign for a Gulf of Peace and supports the 2 World March in Slovenia.

Together with the “Sergej Mašera” Sea Museum, the Danilo Dolci Peace and Coexistence Committee of Trieste and the World Without Wars Association, an awareness afternoon has been organized.

The existence of the IAEA School of Nuclear Prevention (International Atomic Energy Agency) in Miramare, together with the presence of three countries in the same Gulf, can determine the synergies necessary to initiate nuclear disarmament of military transit ports, in Koper-Capodistria and Trieste, based on the new Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) recently approved by the United Nations and already ratified, for example, by the governments of Austria and San Marino.
